Upset is Optional


Recall the last time something upset you; how long did it effect you? Let’s fix that. You train CrossFit for physical fitness.  You pursue advanced degrees for mental fitness.  Why dedicate any less attention to emotional fitness?  After all, it’s the power through which you can transform everyday experience into nourishment.

You are heir to two powerful pieces of technology.  The first is your body. The second is language. You use them in the rendering of your subjective experience.  We will teach you to work with each so that the stories you tell and the body you design serve you and those around you.

Moderator : Edwin Zhao

Edwin Zhao teaches the art of attention through a set of practical skills. You've spent years in school. You can whip out a financial forecast, write a legal brief, and maybe even remember how to solve an integral. But if you've ever woken up to an email or text that left you ""tilted"" for the entire day, you know the importance of a different kind of knowledge: knowledge of how to work with emotions. We begin by observing emotions impacting the body.

Training: Graduate of the Duggan Method

Areas of Focus: men, inter-generational communication, burnout/stress

Style: Conveys skills for client to bring to their individual experience; iterate in sessions for deeper practice. Likely to take local clients swimming to experience a physical metaphor for effective movement through practiced relaxation.
