Specialties & Expertise
I work with children and adolescents providing effective and evidence-based treatments for anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, and school-related issues. I use cognitive behavioral therapy to help change unhelpful thinking and behaving patterns that cause anxiety, sadness, relationship issues, and school problems. The goal is to equip clients with hands-on strategies to better manage emotions and problems, so that they can thrive in life again. Within the framework of CBT, I also incorporate elements of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) such as mindfulness, distress tolerance, and emotional regulation.
Additionally, I specialize in assessment for learning disorders and attention deficit/ hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). I help clients identify their cognitive and academic strengths and weaknesses to help them succeed in school and, ultimately, their career. As a part of testing, I identify the best academic and learning accommodations to increase success.
I work hard to create a supportive and open space where your child or adolescent feels comfortable to share and grow. It is often helpful for parents to be hands-on in the therapy process, so I regularly work with parents on the strategies we're learning in session. My approach will be tailored based on you and your child's personal values and goals.
