Personal Statement

I believe that healing and growth are inherent functions of the psyche. Within the containment of a warm, compassionate and collaborative therapeutic relationship, I encourage and cultivate the emergence of these functions in my clients that can lead to positive change or even profound personal transformation. It is crucial to explore difficult feelings and thoughts in this process. In my experience, while these thoughts and feelings can lead to psychological symptoms when avoided and pushed into the unconscious, they hold great potential for change when experienced, confronted and reflected upon in a safe setting.

The issues that I can help you with include: depression; anxiety; working through trauma; grief/loss; major life transitions; self-discovery; exploring/cultivating creativity; exploring cultural identities; creating satisfying relationships; and understanding and resolving conflicts in interracial relationships.

I am currently enrolled in the analytical training program at the Jung Institute of San Francisco. In my practice, I integrate various theories and approaches. Based on your particular needs and goals, our work together can be long-term or short-term, focusing on the past, the present or the future, exploratory or action-oriented.
